It is part of the bind-chroot rpm. > Perhaps double check if bind-chroot really is installed? > > [patrick@laptop ~]$ rpm -ql bind-chroot | grep named.conf > /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf I made sure that it was installed and also updated it. Here's what I have: [root@iam ~]# ls /var/named/chroot/etc localtime named.caching-nameserver.conf named.caching-nameserver.conf.2007-09-18_02-23-28.364205826 named.rfc1912.zones named.rfc1912.zones.2007-09-18_02-23-28.373332212 rndc.key [root@iam ~]# No "named.conf". root@iam ~]# rpm -q bind-chroot bind-chroot-9.4.2-0.3.b1.fc7 [root@iam ~]# The package is installed. [root@iam ~]# ls -la /etc/named* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root named 52 2007-09-18 02:23 /etc/named.caching-nameserver.conf -> /var/named/chroot//etc/named.caching-nameserver.conf Got a link to "named.caching-nameserver.conf" but no "named.conf" <sigh> Are you running FC7? I know darn well I had a "named.conf" in FC6.
