My objective is to build some modules that are part of the kernel distribution but are not at present selected in the .config for the stock kernel build and add them to the active modules for the stock kernel on my system. The source trees for the module installed by kernel-devel are empty. Is there a more direct path to getting the source directories for the modules than installing the srpms and running rpmbuild? I assume that the two indicated lines can be added to the makefile in the directory and then make will build the module storing it in /lib/modules/2.6....
