The only reference to proxy I found was in 
 /etc/httpd/conf.d/proxy_ajp.conf

LoadModule proxy_ajp_module modules/mod_proxy_ajp.so

The rest of the file was commented out.  I commented out the
LoadModule statement and restarted httpd.  I will see if that
helps.
