I buy everything from newegg.com. Great service, great prices, great
selection, great place....

I really dislike Tiger Direct. The missives from the Pres are
particularly obnoxious. The rebate process is a huge pain - I
bought a monitor once with a huge rebate - the forms we had to
fill out were tortuous and used non-intuitive language. It took
over an hour to go throught it all, and I had to get the
bookeeper involved - 9 weeks later I got a message saying my
rebate application had been rejected because it didn't meet
their 'qualifications' - never again will I buy there. There's
lots of other good stores out there -- when asked, I always
suggest newegg or mwave these days -
I too was burned by the TigerDirect rebate bait tactics. I jumped at the
chance to get a Viewsonic 20.5 inch flat panel display. When I submitted my
rebate request I found out that I had to purchase a new desktop or laptop in
order to qualify for the rebate. On top of that the Viewsonic's DVI didn't
work. When I tried to get a replacement TigerDirect begged out of it stating
I had to deal with the manufacturer. Viewsonic acknowledged my problem and
issued me an RMA but when the replacement never arrived I called and found
they didn't have stock any more. I had to send my new monitor, paying for
shipping of course, to have the repair it. They estimated 10 working days
after they received it. Unfortunately I'd already given away my previous
monitor and couldn't be without a display for 3 weeks. Every time I
revisited the issue Viewsonic claimed no inventory so I ended up using the
standard VGA interface rather than the faster DVI. I had another bad
experience with TigerDirect.
I stay clear of TigerDirect.
