I did not see the keyboard trashing behaviour for some time on iwl3945. What I would do (but I am not so averse to these kind of risks) is yum --enablerepo development update kernel iwlwifi-firmware and get the development (right now that means sort of beta F8) kernel and dependencies on your F6 install. In the past this has worked out fine for me serveral times.
