Well, Karl, I have to say that at least your posts here are a mystery to
me, but I do believe that you have secured your place in the annals of
this mailing list.

 If you don't know what AHCI is then why would you conclude that nobody
should want or need it? And if you have no idea about the subject then
why do you feel the need to post a reply just to say so? Google "AHCI"
and you will quickly find:

I asked in hopes someone like you would help. Now I know what it is and I have the manual for my new motherboard and it doesn't mention it, thank goodness :-)
