i swear, there is a monty python skit struggling to get out here:

fedora mailing list:  "why are you finding this so difficult?  really,
it's just, you know, a download, and an install, and a modprobe or
something, and maybe some editing, and perhaps that network manager
thingy on or off or whatever ... what's the big deal?"

me:  "have any of you actually got this to work?"

FML:  "well, of course, yes, naturally, you betcha ... well, no."
