Is udev-106-4.1.fc7 too old?  I just ran yum update.  Is
the later version you have required?  If so, how can I
get it?

There was a an update to udev that became available that fixed a similar problem on my system.

The update installed
udev-113-8.fc7

If your update was prior to today you probably need to try it once more.
