oh, I will try it tomorrow, for these 2 machines are in company.

Thanks again.

I see.  At this point I would try to SCP the file over, which would tell you if the problem is with  the FTP service or the network.  My gut tells me the network at the card or hub level, but it's just another troubleshooting step.  How fast is an SCP transfer?

thanks for your reply.

These 2 machines are connected in one small Hub.  and the IP address are auto retrieved via DHCP.
I have tried traceroute , there is only one hop to reach each other, for they are in one hub.

Start investigating the network before the services.  Look at your routing table "netstat -nr"  and a traceroute would probably help.  Make sure your subnet mask is correct.

Dear all:

I 'm running vsftpd in my new installed F7, I found it's very slow to upload or download a file to or from the F7 system. Seems that there is only less than 1k bytes/s average.  In fact, most of the time, it seems freezing there.

And if I run xterm -display remoteaddress:0& ,  the xterm window will appear in remote machine after more than 5 minutes.

I don't know whether I have misconfigured my network.  Actually, I didn't change the default setting.

Thanks for your help. I am a newbie for Linux.
