Vivek,

Thanks again for the comments and corrections that you have supplied. I will correct rc.local from

[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/rc.local
#!/bin/sh
#
# This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts.
# You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't
# want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.

touch /var/lock/subsys/local

# martian configuration
/sbin/modprobe martian_dev
/sbin/alsactl restore

[root@localhost ~]#

to

[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/rc.local
#!/bin/sh
#
# This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts.
# You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't
# want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.

touch /var/lock/subsys/local

# martian configuration
/sbin/modprobe martian_dev
/sbin/salsa -l

[root@localhost ~]#

[olivares@localhost ~]$ salsa --help
bash: salsa: command not found
[olivares@localhost ~]$ su -
