I've never had the problem, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't
happen. And Karl is not the only one who's facing the problem. There
are quite a few.
I still have a problem that the icon does not appear on the desktop. I
see the LED blink on the memory stick but it will not mount unless I
have an entry in fstab.
Get the latest udev update in updates-testing repository which will
resolve this issue. It is not a kernel problem.
