Hi;
 a blank CD or DVD has no file sytem on it, so there is no way to mount
it.
I use K3b under KDE, as a user - NOT root.
When you start it up (F->Multimedia->K3b) it will show actions in the
lower panel.
Click on the "further actions" bar for others.
