that is exactly what i was thinking: you could not detect extra
processes, consuming all the cpu power, exept at one time, when i made
run top in order to see, which process swallowed the cpu power. but top
showed me that itself (the top process) swallowed all cpu power up to
100 % which seemed very strange to me.
but now for a start i have gathered the vacuuum cleaner and sucked the
dust away. we will see whether that helps.

Could the extra CPU usage be because the CPU is running so much
slower that it requires a higher CPU load to do the same tasks?
