Yes that's correct. You have have a stick of memory (both of the same size Mb 
wise) in each of the channels. One of my mother dual channel boards has 3 
memory slots, but if I put sticks in all three it will revert to single 
channel and so the machine will run slightly slower. Also both sticks need to 
be the same speed.
