Can someone comment on it on what I need to turn off or on to get
whatever I can to work, to work?

If you are asking how to remove the floating icon, it doesn't seem
possible at this point. Discussion underway on another list I'm
subscribed to can't find a solution, other than hoping for an official
hotfix.
