Hello,

running:
"service qemu status"
gives "qemu binary format handlers are not registered." on FC7 (x86_64)

Why is this so ?

I want to note that this machine has the virtualization extensions
(You can see the SVM flag
in /proc/cpuinfo).

I saw that in /etc/init.d/qemu, this error apperas if the following
does not exist: /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/qemu

I want to add that trying to install a windows 2003 with
"qemu-system-x86_64 -hda vdisk.img -cdrom /dev/scd0 -boot d -m 384"

Gives the following message:

"Could not open '/dev/kqemu' - QEMU acceleration layer not activated"

but running:
ls -al /dev/kqemu
gives:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 250, 0 2007-07-14 13:45 /dev/kqemu

Regards,
Mark
