If that's not good enough for you, you can get any Radeon up to X850, the r300 driver works pretty well these days as far as I know. But STAY CLEAR of any Radeon above that! R5xx-series chipsets only work with the proprietary fglrx driver which causes all sorts of problems (or with the completely unaccelerated vesa). You have been warned! If you want the cheapest you can get, that would be the Radeon 7000. But it will probably suck for Compiz/Beryl.
