In a new installation of F7, a process named prelink is hogging up CPU time.
It almost always uses more than 70% of CPU time, sometimes getting close to

This did not happen in FC6 in the same machine. What may be causing that?
prelink has quite a lot of work after install (or when glibc is upgraded),
just let it finish (shouldn't take more than 30 minutes on reasonably fast
box, unless you installed everything from the Everything set), next time it
will be very quick.
That is not my experience, but I use an old version of Fedora.
Has prelink been made smarter? It churns through all my discs
for about 15 to 30 mins each time.

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
