A printer that had previously performed without problems has suddenly stopped printing jobs. Here's the detail. Printer: HP LaserJet 1300 Connect: Parallel to USB CUPS: 1.2.10-7.fc6 Printer prints its (internal) test page fine. When the USB cable is unplugged and replugged dmesg finds usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 3 drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: removed usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4 Device driver usbdev2.4_ep00 lacks bus and class support for being resumed. usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Device driver usbdev2.4_ep01 lacks bus and class support for being resumed. Device driver usbdev2.4_ep82 lacks bus and class support for being resumed. drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 4 if 0 alt 1 proto 2 vid 0x050D pid 0x0002 The CUPS interface sees the printer as its supposed to be. lpq returns: hp_LaserJet_1300 is ready and printing Rank Owner Job File(s) Total Size active geoff 190 file:///tmp/balsa-body-TJIJUT 78848 bytes The problem is independent of the type of printing. That is, plain text is no better than HTML. Restarting the daemon, rebooting the system and power-cycling the printer has no effect.
