Presumably you are talking about the font sizes when using Firefox,
but please be more explicit because you *might* not be using Firefox.

Anyway, if it's Firefox, you probably need to set the minimum font
size to something you like, go to:-

    Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Fonts & Colors

    Click the "Advanced" button and then set the "Minimum Font Size" a
    bit larger until you get what you want.

Thanks Chris. I don't know how many times I have set that on fresh installs and then when I need it, I forget about it. DUH!
And you were right also about asking if it was only Firefox. I was also using Konkueror. I had crazy fonts all over the place...I was beginning to think I was creating a new meaning for "dithering".
