BTW, does your assessment include folks whose computer is totally
isolated from any network?

any affect on typing errors, or other goofs that can mess up a system.

Yeah, but some will say that you can still "su -" and screw up your system with typing errors. FWIW, I would agree that it is bad practice to always run as root regardless. It is just fun to be contrary with jdow at times. :-)
