Hello. The software updater on my Fedora Core 6 just upped my kernel from
version 2.6.19-1.2911.6.5.fc6-i586 to 2.6.19-1.2895.fc6-i586. Immediately
after rebooting the drive is being accessed about once per second with this
string of messages in /var/log/messages:

Mar 10 17:47:46 fedora kernel: hdd: status error: status=0x58 { DriveReady
SeekComplete DataRequest }
Mar 10 17:47:46 fedora kernel: ide: failed opcode was: unknown
Mar 10 17:47:46 fedora kernel: hdd: drive not ready for command

A number of other packages were updated at the same time, however I had no
such disk activity prior to this. Has anyone else experienced this effect?
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Greg.
