I have a good experience recovering files from an almost dead IDE disk

I managed to recover almost all of the content that I wanted to restore.

The partition was EXT3 and R-Linux on XP had no problems recovering the
data. I was looking for some data recovery tool that would run on Fedora
but was not able to find one. R-Linux was the best option available to
me at that point of time.
