It is definitely possible. Pretty much all the Fedora lists have open
archives. Other than redhat.com, they are archived and indexed in
multiple places like gmane, google etc

They indeed are but doing what you asked Res to do to find all places
where a particular statement was made is fairly hard to do. Especially
when he was referring to statements that we have all seen and remember.
Searching all the fedora lists is possible in gmane.
