I've seen that with some things, but not others.  I suppose it depends
where in the menu tree the files were originally.  e.g. Try renaming the
entry for Gaim to actually be Gaim, and it happens straight away.  But
if you try doing the same with OpenOffice.org entries, they aren't
noticed until a re-log.
