A pity -- "nano" is supposed to be almost identical, and *is* in Fedora
repositories.

Dovecot is a *server* program -- it makes e-mails available over IMAP or
POP3 to client programs, like pine (or Mutt). I'm pretty sure that pine
isn't packaged with a server program.

You may well just need to use system-config-services to enable dovecot.
Or you may need to edit /etc/dovecot.conf to reflect your system.

You may also need to configure a "MTA" program like Postfix to send and
receive e-mails to the outside world, and possibly also Fetchmail. In
this case, you'd have:

Your ISP's POP3 server --> fetchmail --> Postfix --> local storage -->
Dovecot --> Webmail program.

You may also want to look at SquirrelMail, which is in Fedora (a webmail
package).

Hope this helps,

James.
