I updated via yum, and would never do it any other way. While I love gui's for working with user data (Open Office, Firefox, etc) I do not think that they are appropriate for system configuration. I should point out that while Swiftfox is not much faster than Firefox in benchmarks, I can certainly feel a difference. It's not so noticable when going from Firefox to Swiftfox, but going back to Firefox I see that it is a tad slower.
