You'll need to defragment and shrink your XP partition so as to create some unallocated space. Anaconda (the Fedora installer) does not handle this for you. You may also find the GParted LiveCD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php) useful if you aren't a command line fan. Er, just in case: back up your XP partition first!
