No it isn't. I think 216 is a typo since I have:
$ locale LC_PAPER
297
210
UTF-8
216 is the default US setting. 210 is the default UK (en_GB) setting,
and I presume other European countries.
OK, I stand corrected. I misread the length of 279 mm as 297 mm :-)
