Later, Here are some programs that report the format: lsdvd, tcprobe, mplayer, qvamps, probably others. For lsdvd install streamdvd-streamanalyze from livna. For tcprobe install transcode from livna as well (very powerful).
Thanks to all. Tcprobe outputs frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3 So, it is now clear that the format of my video dvd is PAL. Paul
