recent NVIDIA graphics would be a definite bonus.

HP/Compaq have some laptops with Turion 64 x2 CPUs and nVidia graphics
(GeForce 6150 I think). They look pretty nice and that is probably
what I would go with if I decided I wanted another laptop. I had a
Compaq R3000z with an Athlon64 and GeForce4 440 Go and 64-bit FC
worked quite well on it not too long ago. Unfortunately, something
happened to the video after it was slightly out of warranty and it
died. I'm not sure what happened exactly, but it seems to have been
an anomaly.

I am not sure you will find any *laptops* with Opterons in them.
That's really a server class chip, not laptop.
