Thanks for pointing me to pam-keyring-tool (btw, it's in /usr/libexec so
not in the standard path). However, from the --help output I see nothing
that allows one to change the password, so it may not be what I was
looking for.
Yep, you're right. I spoke from memory. They say the memory is the
second thing to go...
I did find a patched set of keyring utilities at
http://www.hekanetworks.com/index.php/publisher/articleview/frmArticleID/25/staticId/31/
but these are based on an older version of gnome-keyring so I'm
reluctant to install them (well, I'm always reluctant to replace parts
of Fedora Core). But if such a patch exists, it may be time to file a
request for enhancement in bugzilla.
I say go for it. If I have a few minutes at some point, I'll see if the
patch at heka applies.

Is it possible (and how!) to change the passphrase of an existing
keyring in the gnome-keyring. The reason I want to do this: pam_keyring
can unlock the keyring if the passwords are identical, and I wanted to
start the new year with a frssh, secure new password.
However, I cannot find the option to change the passphrase anywhere in
gnome, gnome-keyring-manager, gconf etc (FC6 i386 system)
pam-keyring-tool is part of the pam_keyring RPM.
$ /usr/libexec/pam-keyring-tool --help
