Is there any sort of app-independent clipboard for Gnome? Right now,
AFAICT, if I select and copy text from some app, say Firefox, then close
that app, the copied text disappears. I'd like to be able to keep it
around until I explicitly release it, sort of like the clipboard works
with the newer MS Office products. At the very least, once copied, the
clipboard contents should be independent of the app from which they were
copied.
