This is probably cause by selinux.
Try change the context of the .so files in your maple directory
using "chcon -t textrel_shlib_t *.so".
This is however only a temporary solution. Either you
have to create a module for selinux or report the problem
to the selinux team.

I'm having the same problem with xmaple, I have only the splash screen
even with SELInux disabled

Any help will be welcome since, I'm migrating some windows nodes to FC6
