FireWire iPod?

Hi All,

I'm fairly new to Fedora, but have used linux off and on for years,
I'm pretty impressed with Fedora and am trying to migrate everything I
need to my Fedora box. One of the last things to move is my iPod from
my mac. I've re-formatted it to be vfat, and I'm able to use it
banshee if I use USB, but not with FireWire. Problem is that my
workstation only has USB 1.1 ports, so I really need FireWire to sync
my collection back to the iPod.

I have an external hard drive using FireWire and it works great, I'm
also able to see the iPod and mount it's filesystem (/dev/sde2), but
I'm not able to get any application (gtkpod, banshee) to see it. I've
done some searchs and haven't found anything to help. Is this a
futile effort and should I just spring for a new USB 2.0 PCI card?

Thanks,
Nick
