So, I don't know if it used /proc. If it does, you can > always type "cat /proc/cpuinfo". That did the trick! Turns out it's an AMD Athlon XP 1700+. I misspoke when I said it was a Dell. It's actually a Compaq. My brother-in-law gave me this one when he upgraded, and I think it's worth pretty much what I paid for it. I'll never have another Compaq. I am quite pleased with the performance of Linux on it, though.I have been writing a few tools, and getting my hand back in. I've been stuck in Windoze far too long. Hah!
