The bad part is that they are not really user replaceable. They are there to limit the damage, and protect the rest of the motherboard. Replacement usually involves unsoldering the old fuse, and soldering in a new one. (Or soldering a new one on top of the old one.) Your average user does not have the tools or skills to do it. If you use too much heat, you can destroy the motherboard...
