report back:  upgrading to the nvidia server made it even worse. Without nvidia
X crashed and I had to logon again, with Nvidia the screen would remain black
with no sign of activiity. Trying to manually suspend in a virtual console
also didn't work. There appears to be a bugzilla that might be related:
	https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=197921
so i'll follow up through there.
But for now, i'm back to FC5 :-(
