hi michael.

no real magic. on the mysql db, you need to ensure that you've granted the
'user' for the db/tbl the correct privileges for the db/table. the 'grant'
function allows you to set the db, table, user, passwd, port, host
attributes. check the mysql docs for the precise command usage.

once you've set this, you're pretty much good to go. you'd simply use your
mysql client, and specify the parameters you've specified in the grant
process for your given db/tbl...

Subject: Can't connect to MySQL from remote computer on network

I'm running MySQL on Fedora and need to connect to the server from a
Windows computer on the LAN. The connection is failing. What piece of
magic is required on the Fedora side to allow it?

Thanks in advance.
