sudo user gnome FC6

Ever since I upgraded to FC6 I can't use my sudo command to run a
gnome app. If I want to edit something with super user rights I have
to log into root at the console and then run the app.

What can I do to resolve this issue?

$ sudo gedit
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

cannot open display:
Run 'gedit --help' to see a full list of available command line options.
