If your mobo logs overheating events, then it would be there. Overheating is unlikely to get logged inside the OS though. If the mobo/CPU is doing its job, its just going to auto-shutoff as soon as the temperature threshold is reached.
I've got another problem on my hands now... the PC is running fsck every boot, checking / because its been booted 21 times without being checked. Only problem is that its shutting down before fsck is done. Is there a way to turn the auto fsck off for now ?
