Hi, I have a few gigabytes of RAM (Crucial make - ECC registered) lying around (recovered from my retired PCs) and I was thinking if I could use some sort of RAM disk (hardware based like a PCI card etc). I cannot use it in my current motherboards because they require unbuffered non-ECC RAM. It may be just a stupid idea but I would like to experiment with having swap file on such RAM disk (and if there is a battery backup, even the OS can live there). I saw one such product from Gigabyte (iRAM) but it does not support ECC RAM. Tried googling, most of the results were about people complaining about iRAM not supporting ECC RAM :) Does anybody know of such a product?
