Re: USB joysticks

Hi

I am or I was happily using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, a Logitech Wingman Force 3D (now broken, it is very fragile, don't buy), a Saitek Cyborg Evo, an AVB Top Shot Pegasus, and a Logitech Wingman Warrior with no problem. Some of them were in use already in RedHat 7.3. Only the Wingman Warrior used to have a dedicated driver, the others are working fine through the generic USB support for hid compliant devices etc (no intervention from my side, they show up as /dev/input/js0). For the last two, in the past I was tentatively able to get some force feedback working through some kernel drivers (available on the net) which I am not sure if they eventually made their way into the mainstream kernel. Anyway I don't have any application supporting/requiring force feedback on Linux. In summary: all USB joysticks I tried in the last 3 years worked flawlessly with no
required intervention/tweaking (presently on Fedora Core 5).

                   Regards
                   Alfredo

What's the situation with USB joystick support in FC? Poking into kernel modules I see a couple of modules for specific USB joystick brands, but nothing that looks like a generic USB joystick driver.

My laptop has no traditional joystick port, only USB ports. Anyone here picked up any run-of-the-mill USB joystick device recently, and gotten it to work?
