Aha, I have this in my /etc/modprobe.conf (in addition to install and
remove lines)

options wlan0 associate=1

you might want to try that (with eth1 in place of wlan0) and modprobe -r
then re-modprobe the module.

I am trying to follow this thread for this wireless card for FC6 since
I just upgraded last night, but I can't seem to get all of the setting
right.

Here is the error I am getting when I try to compile ipw3945-1.1.2
