Does anyone have any suggestions other than upgrading to FC 6?

1. Upgrade to at least FC5. FC3 is unsupported, and it's ancient, in
"internet years". Stuff will just work better. And while you're at it,
at least _consider_ upgrading to FC6. That's part of the deal with Fedora
-- you gotta upgrade at least yearly.

I know. I prefer to install - and format the partitions. I have a
lot to backup before I install so I don't install as often as I
should as you can see.

2. Install mplayer from livna.

I have mplayer installed. mplayer won't play the avi file either.

Thank you for the feedback.
