Hi all I was checking the log message because my hard drive is working all time, and after checking the message log I found the following : Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: Vendor: SEAGATE Model: SX150176LC Rev: BA12 Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: target0:0:1: tagged command queuing enabled, command queue depth 16. Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: target0:0:1: Beginning Domain Validation Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: target0:0:1: asynchronous Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: target0:0:1: wide asynchronous Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: scsi 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@02138f9c resid=2. Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix last message repeated 2 times Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: target0:0:1: Domain Validation skipping write tests Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: target0:0:1: Ending Domain Validation Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@02138f9c resid=2. Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 9@02138fa8 resid=2. Nov 17 20:05:36 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@02138f9c resid=2. Nov 17 20:05:37 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@02138f9c resid=2. Nov 17 20:05:37 Matrix kernel: SCSI device sdb: 97693755 512-byte hdwr sectors (50019 MB) Nov 17 20:05:37 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@02138f9c resid=2. for some reason the Domain Validation for my hard drive causes the system to start sending these messages all time : Nov 17 20:06:31 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@368b379c resid=2. Nov 17 20:06:31 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@368b379c resid=2. Nov 17 20:06:31 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@368aef9c resid=2. Nov 17 20:06:31 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@368aef9c resid=2. Nov 17 20:06:31 Matrix kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: phase change 6-7 11@368b379c resid=2. this causes the message log to increase it's size faster, this didn't happened when I was using FC3, now after an upgrade to FC6 this problem appears , the system is running normally but the hard drive is always working logging all these messages on the message file. Does any one knows how to fix this? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Marco -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
