Just try it. Open a terminal and type "desktop-effects" - it will pop a
little window asking you if you want to turn it on, if they're installed
- this from KDE - I just tried it. I personally don't give a thwack for
them, but, different strokes for different folks...
And when you do this, even if you cancel, you will lose settings on KDE.
Grrrr. And like you Claude, I probably don't give a thwack about them
either.
We must be using different settings, Mike. I have a pretty customized KDE
environment. I don't remember losing any of my settings.
Perhaps. I don't know. I do know that my 'desktops' were renamed to
'workspaces' and everything ended up in 'desktop 1'. Also, instead of 8
desktops, I magically dropped to 4 desktops. Fortunately, a restart
cleared most of it though.
HTH,
Mike
