Forcing PS fan to come on, FC6.

I've posted a couple of messages concerning the changes in ACPI in FC6. I've got the i686 kernel running on the system now, but I still don't hear my power supply fan coming on. Up to and including FC5 the fan stayed on while Fedora was running. With FC6 it's the complete opposite, the fan does not come on at all. I've googled for how to determine if the temp is getting too high in the box (it's only used for home work, research etc) or any metric at all on it, but nothing so far has given me results.

Is there a way to make that fan come on and stay on? Is this a known tweak to FC6's acpi implementation? I'm quite concerned about this right now, even though the system seems fine. Can I get some ideas on this?
