I suspect that your X server thinks that it is a two button mouse.

Try by highlighting some text, and mashig left and right mouse buttons at the same time. It will paste.


Change it in system/admin/mouse

               Bingo!  You guessed that one correct.  Well I ought to
               be able to fix that?  Will look into it in a bit.
