I don't know, Bill. However, it seems atrpms have built this for FC6, so I've
installed that. I plugged the webcam in again, but no success. Then I
wondered whether it needed a modprobe to load it, so I tried that. Still
nothing.

I did find this in /var/log/messages:

Nov 12 12:09:41 david Installed: gspcav1-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.i686
1.00.04-2.fc6.at
Nov 12 12:09:41 david Installed: gspcav1.i386 1.00.04-2.fc6.at
Nov 12 12:12:23 david kernel: usb 5-1.2: new full speed USB device using
ehci_hcd and address 5
Nov 12 12:12:23 david kernel: usb 5-1.2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Nov 12 12:12:24 david kernel: gspca: no version for "struct_module" found:
kernel tainted.
Nov 12 12:12:24 david kernel: gspca: version magic '2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 SMP
mod_unload 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-4.1' should be '2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 SMP
mod_unload 586 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-4.1'

I'm sure the clue is there, if I were only able to interpret it :-(

Anne
